They say necessity is the mother of invention. Well let
me tell ya its' true. In this case as used crackers became more scarce
the need for our own model was ever present. So thus was born the
THOMSON nut cracker. I decided that a combination of the
best attributes of the champion and Meyer might be the best appraoch
So we put a champion
cracking box
with improvements into a fabricated Meyer frame.
The fabrication design allows us to build and sell the
THOMSON crackerat a reduced price compared to a new Meyer yet maintain the quality and reliability. The many design changes has also allowed us to apply for a patent.
The THOMSON cracker runs at 82 to 90 cracks min but can be speeded up more to over 100 (not recomended)
It adjusts to any size nut just as the Meyer or Champion,
and has an improved design change to the
adjustment mechanism
to allow easy removal when it wears.
It also has an extended range, exrta adjustment screw.
The
nut pockets
are the same as the Meyer and can be easily changed to accomadate smaller
and larger nuts.We even have an enlarged pocket for english walnuts. Timing
the THOMSON nut cracker is easier too, as
the
timing hub
has been moved under the hopper away from nut debree,
so that it doesn't freeze up. Since the bottom chain shaft is mounted through
2 bearings the movement of the chain is a breeze and no longer requires
a tire tool to break it free. We also improved the cracker box crank by making
it out of solid brass for longer wear. The cracker box has been simplified
to eliminate the clean out rod,,,so no more cracked cracking boxes that
cost an arm and a leg to fix.. The Thomson cracker
carries a 1 year warranty against defects on parts and labor. Shipping is
