Ethan Williams, a teenager from Idaho Falls, Idaho,
decided he would make a difference in this world. He applied
for permission to use Iraqi Baseball as his project to earn the coveted
EAGLE SCOUT rating. Three cheers. Ethan did it.
The photo at the right shows Ethan hauling in a cart of
donated soccer balls. Go, Ethan.
- July 20, 2004. Ethan selected the Iraqi Baseball Project as his Eagle
Scout project.
- July 31, 2004. Ethan completed his paperwork to get his project approved.
Through the wonders of email and fax machines, he and I completed long distance
signatures so that he may submit them on time.
- August 3, 2004. Ethan has obtained agreement from two organizations in Idaho
Falls to place collection boxes. One other is pending. He also received his first
donation--four pairs of shin guards--right in the middle of a haircut. Design of
flyers and signs for the project are underway. Ethan is making hay!
- August 10, 2004. Ethan's mom reports that Ethan is placing donation boxes all
over Idaho Falls. One store had a pair of cleats waiting before the box got there.
I am proud of his efforts. He has printed some posters and flyers. Here are
his collections as of Aug 22, 2004.
